I have tried this software, and it doesn't seem to even connect to my bank account. I need a little help here.

The application will most likely not going to work with your bank account because banks use their own applications and don't allow their data to be routed through custom apps that might be potentially broken in terms of security. Yes, it might be compatible with a very small number of them, but don't expect something for sure. Just contact your bank and they will give you the best app to use (if available ) and the best security settings so the data won't leak outside your computer.
I also do not recommend entering your bank details in unsecure applications.
According to its description, the software is capable of performing transfers between accounts and between banks, but I don't see how is that possible since every bank has its own system, identifier, login method, security protocols.
If the software simulates these transfers, then you can use it to see how will the numbers will change. However, visit the following link to download the package: http://silverriversoftware.co.uk/bank6/index.shtml
When you first run Bank Account Tracking it will ask you to create your own login details, it will also ask you to set a password recovery question
